60. Engine Front Cover Installation

^ Tools Required
- J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter





1. Install the front cover gasket. The gasket is reusable and does not require sealer.
2. Inspect the front cover gasket for damage before reusing the gasket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the upper front cover bolts.
^ Tighten the engine front cover bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
4. Install the engine front cover nuts.
^ Tighten the fasteners to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
5. Lubricate the front oil seal with Chassis Grease GM P/N 1051344 or equivalent.
