Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the injector sight shield.
2. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector (2) from the MAP sensor (1).
3. Remove the hose (4) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3).
4. Remove the electrical connector (5) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bolt (1).
6. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3) from the intake manifold (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3) to the intake manifold (1).
2. Install the EVAP canister purge (2) solenoid valve bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
3. Install the hose (4) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
4. Install the electrical connector (5) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
5. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector (2) to the MAP sensor (1).
6. Install the injector sight shield.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
