Suction Hose Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant, A/C Recovery and Recharging.
3. If equipped with 3.8L remove the brake Modulator/Master cylinder.
4. If equipped with 3.5L remove the brake modulator valve bracket.
5. Remove the liquid/suction line bracket.
6. If equipped with 3.8L remove the suction hose nut (3) at the accumulator.
7. If equipped with 3.8L position aside the suction hose at the accumulator.
8. It equipped with 3.5L remove the suction hose nut (2) at the accumulator and position the hose aside.
9. Remove the suction line block titling bolt.
IMPORTANT: Use care when removing the suction hose.
10. Remove the suction hose.
11. Remove the suction line O-ring seals and discard.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: The new O-ring seals must be coated with mineral base 525 Viscosity refrigerant oil.
1. Install the new O-ring seals.
2. Install the suction hose into place.
3. Install the suction hose into the block fitting.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the suction hose block fitting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the suction hose block fitting bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
5. If equipped with 3.8L install the suction hose nut (3) at the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the suction hose nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).
6. If equipped with 3.5L install the suction hose nut (2) at the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the suction hose nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).
7. Install the liquid/suction line bracket.
8. It equipped with 3.8L install the brake modulator master cylinder.
9. If equipped with 3.5L install the brake modulator valve bracket.
10. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant, A/C Recovery and Recharging.
11. Inspect the A/C system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
12. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
