Brake Pedal Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the driver's side instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the stoplamp switch.
3. Remove the cruise control release switch (if equipped).





4. Remove the wiring harness clips.
5. Remove the master cylinder pushrod retaining clip at the brake pedal.





6. Remove the brake pedal mounting nut and bolt.





7. Remove the brake pedal and bushings, if necessary.
8. Clean all the parts with a suitable solvent.
9. Inspect all the parts for wear. Repair or replace any damaged parts.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the brake pedal and bushings, if removed.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the brake pedal mounting nut and bolt.
- Tighten the brake pedal mounting nut and bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the master cylinder pushrod retaining clip at the brake pedal.
4. Install the wiring harness clips.
5. Install the cruise control release switch (if equipped).
6. Install the stoplamp switch.
7. Install the driver's side instrument panel insulator.
