Torque Converter: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the transaxle assembly from the vehicle.





3. Remove the torque converter assembly from the transaxle.





4. Remove the torque converter O-ring seal from the end of the turbine shaft. Use a screwdriver.

Installation Procedure





1. Install a new torque converter O-ring seal on the end of the turbine shaft.





2. Install the torque converter onto the transaxle.
3. Install the transaxle into the vehicle.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Adjust the oil level.
