Mirror Vibration
(Install New Left Hand Mirror/Motor Kit)

Models:
1999-2001 Oldsmobile Alero

Condition

Some customers may comment the left hand mirror vibrates while driving.

Correction

Install a mirror kit, P/N 88892495, using the following procedure:

1. Adjust the mirror to the full down position.

2. Wearing safety glasses and gloves, grasp the top of the mirror support and pull up and outward to disengage the mirror frame from the mirror motor and discard.

3. Remove the three motor retaining screws.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor and discard the motor.

5. Install the electrical connector to the new mirror motor.

6. Install the mirror motor to the mirror housing.

7. Adjust the mirror to the down position.

Notice:
The following steps must be followed or mirror breakage will occur.

8. Align the index notches on the bottom of the mirror frame to the motor.

9. With the bottom of the mirror secure, reach around the top of the mirror with both index fingers and push with your thumbs to fully seat the top of the mirror frame to the motor.

10. Visually check to make sure the mirror frame is fully seated.

11. Check for proper operation of the mirror.
