INFORMATION

Subject:
Service Replacement Front Seat Belts and Seat Belt Guides

Models:
1999 Oldsmobile Alero
1999 Pontiac Grand Am

The part numbers listed below should be used when ordering replacement seat belts and guides for the subject vehicles. These seat belt assemblies and guides are the same as those used in current production 2000 model year vehicles and do have a different appearance then the ORIGINAL PRODUCTION 1999 parts that they are replacing. As a result, front seat belts MUST be replaced in sets (both driver and passenger) when being installed on the 1999 models listed above. It is NOT necessary to replace the front seat belt buckles or the rear seat belts.

In addition, on TWO DOOR COUPE models, both (driver and passenger) front seat belt guides (attached to the headrests) must be replaced when new seat belt assemblies are being installed.

Part numbers for the Alero and Grand Am front seat belts and seat belt guides are the same. The part numbers listed as shown are grouped together by color and body style to make identification and ordering easier.

Parts Information
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.

Important:
When replacing ORIGINAL PRODUCTION 1999 front seat belts, they MUST be replaced in sets (both driver and passenger). On coupe models, both (driver and passenger) front seat belt guides MUST also be replaced when replacing both front seat belts.
