SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE





1. To install the SIR coil assembly, center the following components:
- Center the wheels straight ahead.
- Center the SIR coil assembly.
- Center the race and upper shaft assembly.
- Center the block tooth and the centering mark on the race and upper shaft assembly (1) at the 12 o'clock position.





2. Center the SIR coil assembly. The new SIR coil assembly will be precentered.

Important: Do not depress the tab (1) on the back of the SIR coil assembly.

3. Pull the tab and remove.





4. Install the wave washer (1).
5. Align the SIR coil assembly (2) with the shaft assembly.
6. Install the SIR coil assembly (2) to the shaft assembly.
7. Secure the coil download wires to the tilt housing with the tie wrap and the black wire spacer.





8. Install the retaining ring (1).
9. Pull the orange tab and remove.
10. Install the steering wheel and the flanged prevailing torque nut.
Tighten the steering wheel to 42 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
11. Install the inflator module.
