Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the hoses from the EVAP canister (2).
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt (1).
4. Remove the EVAP canister and the retainer.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Reinstall the rearward end of the EVAP canister retainer into the slot in the [1][2]EVAP bracket (rotate the EVAP canister to insert the top of the EVAP canister under the tab).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Reinstall the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

3. Connect the hoses to the canister.

IMPORTANT: When installing the EVAP canister, the canister vent hose must be routed below the fuel tank fill and vent hoses.

4. Lower the vehicle.
