Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Remove the negative battery cable.
2. Note the position of the hoses for installation.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector and hoses from the purge valve.
4. Release the lock tab on the purge valve mounting bracket.
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Bend tab on mounting bracket to retain the purge valve.
2. Install the purge valve to the mounting bracket.
Once installed pull on the solenoid to ensure that the pan will be held in place.
3. Connect the electrical connector and hoses to the purge valve.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
