Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution, in Service Precautions.

2. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraints (SIR).
3. Remove the steering column shrouds.





4. Remove the Torx(R) head screws (1) from the multifunction switch (2).





5. Disconnect the electrical, connectors (3) from the multifunction switch (1).
6. Remove the multifunction switch (1) from the column (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Position the multifunction switch (1) on the steering column (2).
2. Connect the electrical connectors to the multifunction switch (1).





3. Install the Torx(R) head screw (1) to the multifunction switch (2).
Tighten the screw to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the steering column shrouds.
5. Enable the SIR system.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Ensure that the multifunction switch functions properly.
