Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the rear deck lid.
2. Remove the nuts which attach the stoplamp to the deck lid.
3. Remove the screws which retain the sockets to the lamp assembly.
4. Remove the bulb from the socket.
Twist the bulb and pull outward.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the bulb to the socket.
2. Install the socket to the lamp assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the screws which retain the socket to the lamp assembly.

Tighten
Tighten the stoplamp socket to lamp assembly to 2 N.m (17 lb in).

4. Install the 2 nuts that hold the stoplamp to the deck lid.

Tighten
Tighten the stoplamp to the deck lid to 3 N.m (53 lb in).

5. Close the deck lid.
