35. Engine Block Assemble

1. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the oil pressure switch threads.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the engine oil pressure switch.
^ Tighten the engine oil pressure switch to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).





3. Install the camshaft position sensor.
4. Install the camshaft position sensor bolt.
^ Tighten the camshaft position sensor bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





5. Install the crankshaft position sensor into the side of the engine block.
6. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 or the equivalent to the stud.
7. Install the crankshaft position sensor stud.
^ Tighten the crankshaft position sensor stud to 11 Nm (98 inch lbs.).

8. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the knock sensor.





9. Install the knock sensor.
^ Tighten the knock sensor to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).

10. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the front oil gallery plugs.





11. Install the front 1/4 in oil gallery plugs (1,2).
^ Tighten the 1/4 in oil gallery plugs to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).

12. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the front oil gallery plugs.
13. Install the front 1/8 inch oil gallery plugs (1,2).
^ Tighten the 1/8 in oil gallery plugs to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).

14. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the rear oil gallery plugs.





15. Install the 1/4 inch rear oil gallery plugs (1,2,3).
^ Tighten the 1/4 in oil gallery plugs to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).

16. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the rear oil gallery plugs.
17. Install the rear 1/8 inch oil gallery plugs (1,2,3).
^ Tighten the 1/8 inch oil gallery plugs to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).

18. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the engine block plugs.
19. Install the remaining engine block plugs.
20. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the coolant drain plug.





21. Install the left coolant drain plug.
^ Tighten the coolant drain plug to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).

22. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the coolant drain plug.





23. Install the right coolant drain plug.
^ Tighten the coolant drain plug to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
