Ignition Lock Cylinder - Off Vehicle

STEERING COLUMN LOCK CYLINDER SET

DISASSEMBLE - OFF VEHICLE

1. Remove the turn signal switch assembly. Service and Repair






2. Remove the buzzer switch assembly (3).
3. Remove the lock retaining screw (2).
4. Remove the retaining clip (4) with the steering column passkey lock cylinder set terminal connector (5).
5. Remove the steering column passkey lock cylinder set (1).






6. Disconnect and pull the steering column pass key lock cylinder set terminal connectors through the column.

ASSEMBLE - OFF VEHICLE






1. Pull the steering column passkey lock cylinder set terminal connectors through the column and reconnect.






2. Put the steering column passkey lock cylinder set (1) into the lock housing cover assembly.

NOTICE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the lock retaining screw (2).

TIGHTEN
Screws to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

4. Install the buzzer switch assembly (3).
5. Install the retaining clip (4) with the steering column passkey lock cylinder set terminal connectors (5) to the lock housing cover assembly.
6. Install the turn signal switch assembly.
