REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR.
2. Remove the center console.
3. Remove the sound insulator screws (2) from the IP.
4. Remove the sound insulator wing nuts (3) from the studs on the cowl.
5. Pull the sound insulator (1) down and rearward.
6. Remove the courtesy lamp.
7. Remove the sound insulator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the sound insulator to the vehicle. Perform the following steps:
1.1. Position the sound insulator (1) under the dash.
1.2. Install the courtesy lamp to the sound insulator.
1.3. Insert the cowl studs through the holes in front of the insulator.
1.4. Route the passenger inflator module pigtail around courtesy light.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the sound insulator screws to the IP.

Tighten
Tighten the sound insulator screws to 1.9 Nm (17 lb in)

3. Install the wing nuts to the studs.
4. Install the center console.
5. Enable the SIR.
