Hood Latch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

The hood latch is attached to the radiator support. The bolts are elongated in order to help in adjustment. Lubricate the hood latch as recommended.

1. Remove the upper radiator support (3).
2. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch (1).
3. Remove the bolts (2) that retain the hood latch.
4. Remove the hood latch (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the hood latch (1).
2. Install the bolts (2) in order to retain the hood latch.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N.m (84 lb in).

3. Connect the hood release cable to the hood latch.
4. Install the upper radiator support (3).
5. Adjust the hood primary latch (1).
