A/T Oil Cooler Hose Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

NOTICE: Allow sufficient clearance around the transaxle oil cooler pipes and around the hoses to prevent damage or wear which may cause fluid loss.





1. Disconnect upper transmission cooler line.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Position the drain pan.
4. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the transaxle oil cooler fittings in the transaxle.





5. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hose clamps.
6. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the transaxle oil cooler pipes.
7. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hose bolt/screw.
8. Remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: The correct thread engagement is critical. The crossthreaded fittings can achieve proper tightness value and still leak.





1. Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses.
2. Install the transaxle oil cooler hose bolt/screw.
^ Tighten the transaxle oil cooler hose bolt/screw to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses to the transaxle oil cooler fittings in the transaxle.
^ Tighten the transaxle oil cooler hose fittings to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses to the transaxle oil cooler pipes.
5. Install the transaxle oil cooler clamps to the transaxle oil cooler hoses on the transaxle oil cooler pipes at the radiator.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Adjust the fluid level. Refer to the following information:
^ Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure Testing and Inspection
^ Approximate Fluid Capacities Capacity Specifications
^ Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations

8. Inspect for fluid leaks and repair as necessary.
