Forward Servo Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Install the engine support fixture.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the power steering gear heat shield.
4. Remove the power steering rack and pinion and hang the power steering rack and pinion from the exhaust pipe.
5. Remove the transaxle mount lower nuts.
6. Remove the engine mount lower nuts.
7. Remove the power steering lines from the right side of the frame.
8. Support the rear of the frame with a utility stand.
9. Remove the frame rear bolts/screws.
10. Adjust the utility stand in order to lower the rear of the frame.
11. Position a drain pan under the forward servo cover.
12. Remove the forward band servo cover bolts/screws.
13. Remove the forward servo cover.
14. Remove the forward servo cover O-ring.
15. Remove the servo piston assembly.
16. Remove the servo spring.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the servo spring.
2. Install the servo piston assembly.
3. Install the forward servo cover O-ring.
4. Install the forward servo cover.
5. Install the forward servo cover bolts/screws.
^ Tighten the forward band servo cover bolts/screws to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Remove the drain pan from under the forward servo cover.
7. Adjust the utility stand to raise the rear of the frame.
8. Install the NEW frame rear bolts/screws.
9. Remove the support from the rear of the frame.
10. Install the power steering lines to the right side of the frame.
11. Install the engine mount lower nuts.
12. Install the transaxle mount lower nuts.
13. Install the power steering rack and pinion.
14. Install the power steering gear heat shield.
15. Lower the vehicle.
16. Remove the engine support fixture.
