Exhaust Crossover Pipe: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.





2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
4. Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts.
5. Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield.





6. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe bolts/studs.
7. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.
8. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe seal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the exhaust crossover pipe seal to the exhaust crossover pipe at the right (rear) exhaust manifold connection.
2. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
3. Install the exhaust crossover pipe bolts/studs.
^ Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe bolts/studs to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





4. Install the exhaust crossover heat shield.
5. Install the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts.
^ Tighten the exhaust crossover heat shield nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

6. Install the throttle body air inlet duct.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
8. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
