Engine Oil Dip Stick - Dip Stick Tube: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the oil level indicator.
3. Loosen the nut holding the oil level indicator tube bracket to the exhaust manifold stud.
4. Remove the oil level indicator tube. Pull upward.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the oil indicator tube to the engine. Make sure that the oil level indicator tube is fully seated in the engine.
2. Make sure the O-ring is in place.
3. Slide the oil indicator tube bracket onto the exhaust manifold stud.





4. Install the oil level indicator tube nut on the exhaust manifold stud.
^ Tighten the oil level indicator tube nut to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the oil level indicator.
6. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
