Engine Mount Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J 28467-90A Engine Support Adapters
- J 28467-B Universal Engine Support Fixture

1. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
3. Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor.
4. Carefully remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
5. Remove the engine mount struts.
6. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
7. Remove the right front tire and wheel.
8. Remove the right engine splash shield.
9. Disconnect the three way catalytic converter at the exhaust manifold.
10. Remove the engine mount lower nuts from the frame.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Install the engine support fixture.
13. Raise the engine using the J28467-90A and the J28467-B.
14. Raise the vehicle
15. Remove the air conditioning compressor and reposition.
16. Disconnect the power steering brackets from the frame.





17. Remove the left (front) engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.
18. Remove the right (rear) engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.
19. Suitably support the frame. Loosen the left side frame bolts. Remove the right side frame bolts. Lower the frame for access.





20. Remove the engine mount with the engine mount bracket from the engine.





21. Remove the engine mount upper nuts.





22. Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.





2. Install the engine mount upper nuts connecting the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.
^ Tighten the engine mount upper nuts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the engine.
4. Install new right side frame bolts. Make sure the frame is suitably supported. Install new left side frame bolts.





5. Loosely install the right (rear) engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.





6. Loosely install the left (front) engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.
7. Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts.
^ Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).

8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Lower the engine using the J 28467-B.
10. Remove the J 28467-B and the J 28467-90A.
11. Raise the vehicle.





12. Install the engine mount lower nuts to the frame.
^ Tighten the engine mount lower nuts to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).

13. Install the air conditioning compressor.
14. Connect the power steering brackets to the frame
15. Install the right engine splash shield.
16. Install the three way catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
17. Install the right front tire and wheel.
18. Lower the vehicle.
19. Install the engine mount struts.
20. Carefully install the throttle body air inlet duct.
21. Install the drive belt.
22. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
23. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
24. Measure the wheel alignment.
