Engine Mount Bracket Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required
- J 28467-90A Engine Support Adapters
- J 28467-B Universal Engine Support Fixture

1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
3. Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor.
4. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
5. Remove the engine mount struts.
6. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
7. Remove the right front tire and wheel.
8. Remove the right engine splash shield.
9. Remove the right engine lift hook.
10. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield and the exhaust crossover pipe bolts at the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
11. Remove the EGR tube bolt at the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
12. Disconnect the transaxle indicator connector.
13. Remove the catalytic converter from the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
14. Remove the right (rear) exhaust manifold.





15. Remove the engine mount lower nuts from the frame.
16. Lower the vehicle.
17. Use the J 28467-90A and the J 28467-B in order to raise the engine.
18. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
19. Remove the air conditioning compressor and reposition.
20. Disconnect the power steering brackets from the frame.
21. Remove the left (front) engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.





22. Remove the right (rear) engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.





23. Remove the right side frame bolts.





24. Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
25. Remove the engine mount bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the engine mount bracket to the engine mount.





2. Install the engine mount upper nuts.
^ Tighten the engine mount upper nuts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the right side frame bolts.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Lower the engine using the engine support fixture.
6. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.





7. Loosely install the right (rear) engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.





8. Loosely install the left (front) engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.
9. Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts connecting the engine mount bracket to the engine.
^ Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).

10. Install the air conditioning compressor.
11. Connect the power steering brackets to the frame.
12. Install the right engine splash shield.
13. Install the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
14. Install the catalytic converter to the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
15. Connect the transaxle indicator connector.
16. Install the EGR tube to the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
17. Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield and the exhaust crossover pipe bolts at the right (rear) exhaust manifold.
18. Install the right engine lift hook.
19. Install the right front tire and wheel.
20. Lower the vehicle.
21. Remove the engine support fixture.
22. Install the engine mount struts.
23. Install the throttle body air inlet duct.
24. Install the drive belt.
25. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
26. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
