Park Brake Support Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
3. Remove the brake caliper bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
4. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
5. Loosen the brake cables at the equalizer (2).
6. Remove the cable from the actuator lever.
7. Remove the parking brake return spring.
8. Remove the cable from the parking brake bracket.
9. Remove the parking brake bracket bolts (9).
10. Remove the parking brake bracket (8) from the support plate (7).
11. Remove the rear wheel hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear in Transmission and Drivetrain.
12. Remove the parking brake shoe and lining. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement.
13. Remove the parking brake actuator (5).
14. Remove the support plate (7).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the parking brake support plate (7).
2. Install the parking brake shoe and lining. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement.
3. Install the rear wheel hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear in Transmission and Drivetrain.
4. Install the parking brake actuator (5).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the parking brake bracket (8) onto support plate (7).
- Tighten the parking brake bracket bolts (9) to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Install the cable onto the parking brake bracket.
7. Install the parking brake return spring.
8. Install the cable onto the actuator lever.
9. Tighten the nut on the equalizer (2) in order to remove the slack in the cable.
10. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
11. Install the brake caliper bracket. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement - Rear in Disc Brakes.
12. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment.
