Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
The instrument panel (IP) compartment is a part of the IP compartment door assembly.

Compartment Replacement: IP - Removal Procedure:




1. Open the IP compartment door assembly.
2. Loosen the screw retaining the door damper cord to the IP compartment door.
3. Release the loop of the damper cord from the retaining screw.
4. Rotate the IP compartment door stops 1/4 turn counterclockwise to release and remove. Access the door stops from the inside of the compartment.
5. Close the IP compartment door.
6. Remove the screws retaining the compartment door hinge to the IP trim pad, then support the door.
7. Carefully release the compartment door latch and remove the IP compartment door assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Compartment Replacement: IP - Installation Procedure:




1. Align and insert the IP compartment door assembly into position; engage the door latch and support the door.
2. Install the IP compartment door assembly hinge to IP trim pad retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the IP compartment door assembly hinge to IP trim pad retaining screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

3. Open the IP compartment door just enough to access the door stop retaining slots.
4. Install the IP compartment door stops to the retaining slots, then rotate the door stops 14 turn clockwise to secure in place.
5. Install the loop of the door damper cord to the retaining screw on the compartment door.
6. Tighten the door damper cord to IP compartment door retaining screw.

Tighten
Tighten the IP compartment door damper cord to IP compartment door retaining screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Close the IP compartment door assembly.
