REMOVAL PROCEDURE
Tools Required
J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Insulator Replacement: IP - Removal Procedure:

1. Using the J 38778, release and remove the push-in retainers from the appropriate Instrument Panel (IP) insulator.

Insulator Replacement: IP - Removal Procedure:

2. Lower the insulator slightly.
3. Rotate the IP courtesy lamp socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise to release the socket from the insulator.

Insulator Replacement: IP - Removal Procedure:

4. Pull the LH insulator forward from the stud at the accelerator pedal, if removing the LH side insulator.
5. Pull the RH insulator forward from the IP, if removing the RH side insulator.
6. Remove the appropriate IP insulator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Insulator Replacement: IP - Installation Procedure:

1. Align the removed IP insulator(s) to the IP.
2. Install the LH insulator to the stud at the accelerator pedal, if removed.

Insulator Replacement: IP - Installation Procedure:

3. Install the IP courtesy lamp socket to the insulator, then rotate the lamp socket 1/4 turn clockwise to secure.
4. Press upward and forward on the LH forward edge of the LH insulator to locate the insulator to the ledge in the dash mat, if removed.
5. Press upward and forward on the forward edge of the RH insulator to locate the insulator to the ledge in the dash mat, if removed.

Insulator Replacement: IP - Installation Procedure:

IMPORTANT: Check to ensure that the RH IP insulator, if reinstalled, does not block the floor air outlet.

6. Fully raise the insulator(s) into position.
7. Install the IP insulator push-in retainers.
