Hood Latch Support Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: Be careful when you handle a sensor. Do not strike or jolt a sensor. Before applying power to a sensor:
^ Remove any dirt, grease, etc. from the mounting surface.
^ Position the sensor horizontally on the mounting surface.
^ Point the arrow on the sensor toward the front of the vehicle.
^ Tighten all of the sensor fasteners and sensor bracket fasteners to the specified torque value.
Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
Hood Latch Support Replacement: Removal procedure:
1. Remove the hood primary latch.
2. Remove the front bumper fascia upper support.
3. Remove the front end sheet metal support bolts.
4. Remove the front end sheet metal support nut.
5. Remove the front end sheet metal support.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Hood Latch Support Replacement: Installation Procedure:
1. Install the front end sheet metal support to the lower tie bar.
2. Install the front end sheet metal support nut.
Tighten
Tighten the front end sheet metal support nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Install the front end sheet metal support bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the front end sheet metal support bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
4. Install the upper fascia Support bracket to latch support.
5. Install the hood primary latch.
