Fuel Filler Door Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Removal Procedure:

1. Open the fuel filler door.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
3. Remove the bolts from the fuel filler pocket at the fuel filler neck.

4. Remove the nut from the fuel filler door actuator cable.
5. Remove the fuel filler door actuator cable from the fuel filler pocket.
6. Apply tape to the opening around the fuel filler pocket.

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Removal Procedure:

7. Remove the fuel filler pocket using a small flat-bladed tool.
8. Press down and out from the top edge of the fuel filler pocket.
9. Remove the fuel filler pocket from the quarter panel.

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Removal Procedure:

10. Remove the nuts from the inside of the quarter panel on the fuel filler door.
11. Remove the fuel filler door from the quarter panel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Installation Procedure:

1. Align the fuel filler door studs to the holes in the quarter panel.
2. Install the nuts on the inside of the quarter panel to the fuel filler door studs.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler door nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Installation Procedure:

3. Install the fuel filler door actuator cable to the fuel filler pocket.
4. Install the nut to the fuel filler door actuator cable.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler door actuator cable nut to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Installation Procedure:

5. Install the fuel filler pocket to fuel filler neck.
6. Press in until fully seated.

Fuel Filler Door Replacement: Installation Procedure:

7. Install the bolts to the fuel filler pocket.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler neck bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

8. Replace the fuel filler cap.
9. Close the fuel filler door.
