Flex Plate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the transmission converter cover bolts and the cover.





3. Mark the relationship of the converter to the flywheel.
4. Remove the three bolts attaching the converter to the flywheel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the bolts attaching the converter to the flywheel.
^ Tighten all bolts to 62 Nm (46 lb ft) Retorque the first bolt after all three have been tightened.


NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.






2. Install the converter cover and the attaching bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Lower the vehicle.
