Torque Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable
2. Remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle.
3. Remove the torque converter assembly (55) from the transmission.





4. Remove the turbine shaft O-ring (41) on the end of the turbine shaft using a screwdriver.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Assemble a new turbine shaft O-ring (41) on the end of the turbine shaft.





2. Install the torque converter (55) onto the transmission.
3. Install the transmission into the vehicle.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Adjust the oil level. Refer to transmission Oil Level Checking Procedure.
