Fluid Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Loosen the pan bolts and drain the oil.
3. Remove the pan attaching bolts.
4. Remove the pan (2) and the gasket (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: The oil pan gasket may be reused, unless the sealing ribs are damaged. If damaged, use a new gasket.
1. Install the pan (2) and the gasket (1).
2. Install the new pan attaching bolts.
^ Tighten the pan bolts to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Refill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON(R) III oil.
5. Inspect the oil pan gasket (1) for leaks.
6. Check the fluid level.
