Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Installation

^ Tools Required
- J 36660 Torque Angle Meter





1. Install the lower intake manifold gaskets.





2. Coat the ends of the push rods with prelube GM P/N 1052365 or equivalent.
3. Install the push rods in their original location.

IMPORTANT: The intake valve push rods measure 144 mm (5.75 inch) long. The exhaust valve push rods measure 152.5 mm (6.0 inch) long.

4. Coat the rocker arm friction surfaces with prelube GM P/N 1052365 or equivalent.
5. Install the valve rocker arms in their original positions.

IMPORTANT: Shims may be required under the valve rocker arm pedestals if reconditioning has been performed on the cylinder head or its components. Refer to Cylinder Head Clean and Inspect.

6. Install the rocker arm bolts.
^ Use the J 36660 to tighten the bolt to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.) + 30°.
