Brake Modulator Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: To help avoid personal injury, due to a retained load on the brake modulator, the Gear Tension Relief function of the scan tool must be performed prior to removal of the ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly.

1. Use the Scan Tool in order to perform the Gear Tension Relief Sequence.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Remove the Battery tray.
4. Remove the upper radiator hose.





5. Disconnect the two brake solenoid valve electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the Brake Motor Pack electrical connector.





7. Disconnect the brake pipes. Note Position.





8. Remove the Hydraulic modulator assembly to bracket mounting nut.
9. Remove the Hydraulic modulator assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the Hydraulic modulator assembly to the vehicle.
Install the Hydraulic modulator assembly to the bracket mounting nut.
- Tighten the Hydraulic modulator bracket mounting nut to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Connect the brake pipes from the wheel cylinders to the Hydraulic Modulator.
- Tighten the tube nuts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the brake pipes from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve.
- Tighten the tube nuts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

4. Connect the Brake Motor Pack electrical connector.
5. Connect the two brake solenoid valve electrical connectors.
6. Install the upper radiator hose.
7. Install the Battery tray.
8. Install the Battery to Vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Bleed the system.

9. Perform the Diagnostic System Check.
