Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart (Part 2 Of 2):

Wiring Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This is a trouble code (both current and history) that indicates the Body Function Controller (BFC) has sensed a short to ground/open condition on the Instrument Cluster Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) data outline to the Body Function Controller (BFC).

CONDITIONS FOR SELLING THE DTC
All of the following conditions must be met:
^ Ignition 0 is active.
^ The clock associated with the 1st data bit transmitted to the Instrument Cluster has the feedback not present for 64 transmission cycles.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ Stores DTC U2006 in the Body Function Controller (BFC) memory.
^ The Instrument Cluster will illuminate the THEFT SYSTEM, ABS, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicators, the PRNDL indicator will be blank and the Fuel and the Temperature Gauges will read zero.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ The Body Function Controller (BFC) goes to sleep and reinitializes with the fault cleared.
^ Use the scan tool.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ With the Ignition Switch in the RUN position check for voltage transitions on the SPI Data Line.
^ When the diagnostics direct you to take electrical measurements at the Wiring Harness Junction Blocks, refer to Power Distribution, in Electrical Diagnosis, for terminal assignments of the Wiring Harness Junction Blocks. Diagrams

^ If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent. Try performing the tests shown while wiggling wiring and connectors, this can often cause the malfunction to appear.

TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. This step determines if the Body Function Controller (BFC) is malfunctioning.
6. This step determines if there is an open in circuit 1323 between the Instrument Cluster and the Body Function Controller (BFC).
7. This step determines if there is a short to ground in circuit 1323 between the Instrument Cluster and the Body Function Controller (BFC).
