U2000

Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart:

Wiring Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This is a trouble code (both current and history) that is stored in the Body Function Controller (BFC) and indicated that the Instrument Cluster has sensed a loss of Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) data from the Body Function Controller (BFC).

CONDITIONS FOR SELLING THE DTC
All of the following conditions must be met:
^ Ignition 0 is active.
^ The Instrument Cluster has transmitted the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) data is valid (see DTC U2001).
^ The Instrument Cluster transmitted the Serial Data Status Code bit is not set for 64 transmission cycles.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ Stores DTC U2000 in the Body Function Controller (BFC) memory.
^ The Fuel and Temperature gauges are at zero.
^ The THEFT SYSTEM, ABS, and SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicators are illuminated.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ The Body Function Controller (BFC) goes to sleep and reinitializes with the fault cleared.
^ All Body Function Controller (BFC) history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles (from OFF to RUN) with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles.
^ Use the scan tool.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ DTC U2001 MUST be diagnosed before DTC U2000
^ With the Ignition Switch in the RUN position check for voltage transitions on the SPI Data Line.
^ When the diagnostics direct you to take electrical measurements at the Wiring Harness Junction Blocks, refer to Power Distribution, in Electrical Diagnosis, for terminal assignments of the Wiring Harness Junction Blocks. Diagrams

^ If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent. Try performing the tests shown while wiggling wiring and connectors, this can often cause the malfunction to appear.
