Interlock Solenoid Assembly - Column Shift

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Disable the SIR system.
3. Two tapping screws (16) from bottom of bearing & housing assembly (11).

Removing Interlock Solenoid Assembly:





4. Interlock solenoid assembly (15) from column.
5. Electrical connector from vehicle wire harness.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTICE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and system.

1. Interlock solenoid assembly (15) to column.
2. Two tapping screws (16) to bearing & housing assembly (11).
^ Seat screw (16) on left side of column first.
^ Seat screw (16) on right side of column second.
^ Tighten screws (16) in above order to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in).
3. Electrical connector to vehicle wire harness.
4. If all service operations are completed, enable the SIR system.
5. Negative (-) battery cable.
