Drive Belt Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE^ Tools Required
- J 39914 Drive Belt Tension Wrench
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Rotate the belt tensioner. Use the J 39914.
3. Remove the drive belt from the generator pulley.
4. Support the engine by the oil pan. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the engine mount assembly from the engine mount bracket support. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.
6. Remove the auxiliary bracket.
7. Lower the engine to remove the drive belt.
8. Remove the drive belt.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
^ Tools Required
- J 39914 Drive Belt Tension Wrench
1. Rotate the belt tensioner. Use the J 39914.
2. Install the drive belt.
3. Install the auxiliary bracket.
4. Install the auxiliary bracket fasteners.
^ Tighten the fasteners to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the engine mount assembly to the engine mount bracket support bolts. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.
5. Remove the floor jack.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
