Oil Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
2. Remove the oil pump.
3. Remove the drive shaft extension.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the drive shaft extension in the oil pump.
2. Engage the drive shaft extension into the drive gear.
3. Install the pump to the rear bearing cap bolt.
^ Tighten the oil pump mounting bolt to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
5. Fill the crankcase with oil.
