REMOVAL

CAUTION: Inspect the EGR outlet pipe for leaks, whenever the pipe is removed from the right hand exhaust manifold. If a leak exists, replace the EGR adapter.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
3. Remove the transaxle oil level indicator and the indicator tube. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
4. Remove the oxygen sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the two bolts attaching the right exhaust manifold to the crossover pipe.
6. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle.
7. Remove the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold attaching nuts.
8. Remove the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
9. Lower the vehicle.





10. Remove the engine lift bracket.





11. Remove the exhaust manifold studs.
12. Remove the exhaust manifold.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.
2. Install the exhaust manifold studs and bolts. Tighten the studs and the bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the engine lift bracket.
4. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle.
5. Install the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the two bolts attaching the right exhaust manifold to the crossover pipe. Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the oxygen sensor electrical connector.
9. Install the transaxle oil level indicator and the indicator tube. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
10. Install the throttle cable bracket.
11. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
