Vehicle Ride Height Measurement Locations

1. Park vehicle on level ground.
2. Check tire pressure. Be sure all-tires are inflated to proper pressure.
3. Check fuel level; fuel tank should be full.
4. Check that no extra weight is in passenger compartment or trunk; the trunk must be empty except for spare tire and jack. Also, on vehicles equipped with Electronic Level Control (ELC), make sure it is operating properly.
5. Place front seat to rear position.
6. Bounce vehicle three times at front and rear to normalize the suspension.
7. Make measurements D, Z, J, and K.
8. Compare measurements taken with those listed here. Maximum variation side-to-side and front-to-rear is 19 mm (3/4 inch).
^ D = 68-88 mm (2 11/16 - 3 7/16 in.)
^ Z = 50-70 mm (1 15/16 - 2 3/4 in.)
^ J = 229-249 mm (9 - 9 13/16 in.)
^ K = 236-256 mm (9 9/32 - 10 1/16 in.)
