Hood Latch: Service and Repair

Hood Primary Latch:

The hood latch is attached to radiator support. The bolt holes are elongated to help in adjustment. The hood latch should be lubricated as recommended.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Upper radiator support.
2. Hood release cable from hood latch.
3. Bolts retaining hood latch.
4. Hood latch.

Install or Connect

1. Hood latch.
2. Bolts to retain hood latch.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 9.5 N.m (84 lb. in.).

3. Hood release cable to hood latch.
4. Upper radiator support.

Adjust
^ Hood primary latch.
