Battery Cable Routing:
When replacing battery cables, be sure to use replacement cables that are the same type, gage and length.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air cleaner.
2. Battery negative cable.
3. Battery positive cable from battery.
4. Battery positive cable nut and cable from the underhood electrical center.
3. Battery negative cable bolt/screw from upper tie bar.
6. Battery negative cable nut and cable from transaxle stud.
7. Battery positive cable from starter motor "BAT" terminal.
8. Battery cables from vehicle.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
Refer to Service Precautions.
1. Battery cables to vehicle.
2. Battery positive cable to starter motor "BAT" terminal.
3. Battery negative cable and cable nut to transaxle stud.
Tighten
^ Nut to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft).
4. Battery negative cable and cable bolt/screw to upper tie bar.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
5. Battery positive cable and cable nut to underhood electrical center.
Tighten
^ Nut to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft.).
6. Battery positive cable to battery.
Tighten
^ Bolt/screw to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).
7. Battery negative cable.
