Control Valve Body
^ Tool Required:
- J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
- Or Equivalent
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Install engine support fixture, J 28467-360.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Case side cover.
5. wiring harness as needed.
6. Oil pump.
7. Valve body to channel plate bolts.
8. Valve body, leaving spacer plate with the transaxle.
9. Spacer plate and gasket, if needed.
^ For check ball locations, refer to figure.
10. Solenoid screens (four).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTICE: Do not use any type of grease to retain or hold parts during assembly of this unit. Greases other than the recommended assembly lube will change transaxle oil characteristics and cause undesirable shift conditions and/or filter clogging. Retain check balls in proper locations using assembly lube TRANSJEL(R) J 36850, or equivalent (petroleum jelly).
1. Solenoid screens, if previously removed.
2. Spacer plate and gasket, if previously removed.
3. Valve body and gasket.
4. Valve body to channel plate bolts.
NOTICE: Use a torque wrench to tighten the valve body bolts. Do not exceed the torque specifications. If exceeded, the bolts may break.
Important: Do not use impact type tools on the valve body or pump assembly.
5. Oil pump.
6. Wiring harness.
7. Case side cover.
8. Remove engine support fixture, J 28467-360.
9. Negative battery cable.
Adjust
^ Oil level.
