Oil Pan: Service and Repair






Remove or Disconnect

NOTICE: The oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, must be removed prior to removal of the oil pan. If the oil pan is removed first, damage to the sensor may occur.

1. Raise vehicle.
2. Drain engine oil.
3. Flywheel cover.
4. Oil level sensor.
5. Oil filter.
6. Oil pan.
7. Oil pump pipe and screen.
8. Oil pan gasket.

Clean
^ Oil pan and cylinder block mating surfaces.

NOTICE: The oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, must be installed after the oil pan has been installed. If the oil level sensor is installed first, damage to the sensor may occur.

Install or Connect

1. Oil pan gasket.
2. Oil pump pipe and screen.
3. Oil pan.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 14 N.m (125 lb. in.).
^ Do not over tighten bolts or damage to the oil pan will occur, resulting in an oil leak.

4. Oil filter.
5. Flywheel cover.
6. Oil level sensor.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Refill engine oil.
