"Traction Active" Indicator Inoperative With No DTC's Set:

CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Determines which Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) option the vehicle has.
2. Uses the Tech 1 Lamp test to check the "TRACTION ACTIVE" indicator circuit.
3. Uses the Tech 1 IPC Lamp Test to test to determine if the malfunction is internal to the IPC.
4. The J 39700 Pinout Box with the J 39700-25 adapter cable must be connected before this step is performed. This step determines if the EBTCM is internally shorted to GND.
5. Uses the Tech 1 ABS/TCS Lamp Test to test to determine if the malfunction is internal to the EBTCM.
6. Checks the condition of the "TRACTION ACTIVE" indicator bulb.
7. Checks for an open in CKT 1656.
