Transmission Mount: Service and Repair




TRANSAXLE MOUNTS AND BRACKETS
















Remove or Disconnect
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Support transaxle with jackstand.
3. Bolts attaching brackets to transaxle.
4. Nuts attaching brackets to mounts.
5. Brackets.
6. Bolts/nuts attaching mount supports to frame.
7. Mount supports.
8. Nuts attaching mounts to supports.


Install or Connect
1. Mounts and attaching nuts to brackets.

Tighten: Nuts to 53 N.m (39 lb. ft.).

2. Supports and attaching bolts/nuts to frarne.
3. Brackets and attaching nuts to mounts.
4. Brackets to transaxle bolts.

Tighten: Bolts/Screws to 55 N.m (41 lb. ft.).

5. Mounts to frame.

Tighten
^ Front mount nuts to 44 N.m (32 lb. ft.).
^ Rear mount nuts to 33 N.m (24 lb. ft.).


6. Remove jackstand.
7. Lower vehicle.


TRANSAXLE BRACE




Remove or Disconnect
1. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
2. Right front tire and wheel.
3. Right front bumper fascia splash shield.
4. Bolts/screws.
5. Transaxle brace.


Install or Connect
1. Position transaxle brace to transaxle and engine.

Important: Do not tighten transaxle brace bolts/screws out of sequence. Side load condition to transaxle may occur.

2. Hand start bolts/screws to engine and transaxle.
3. Bolts/screws to engine.

Tighten: Bolts/screws to 43 N.m (32 lb. ft.).

4. Bolts/screws to transaxle.

Tighten: Bolts/screws to 43 N.m (32 lb. ft.).

5. Right front bumper fascia splash shield.
6. Right front tire and wheel.
7. Lower vehicle.
