Water Entering into Spoiler (Drain Water by Enlarging an Open "Blow Hole"/Seal Open Holes with Acrylic Tape)

1995 Oldsmobile Achieva
1995 Pontiac Grand Am

CONDITION
Some owners may comment on water entering into the spoiler.

CAUSE
Water is entering into the spoiler at "blow hole" locations.

CORRECTION




Pontiac: Refer to Figure 1.




Oldsmobile: Refer to Figure 2.

1. Remove spoiler. Refer to page 10-8-11 in the Service Manual.

2. Drain water in spoiler by enlarging an open "blow hole" to approximately 1/4 inch diameter.

3. Seal all open holes with 3M acrylic tape 4210, or equivalent.

Important:
Open holes, "blow holes", quantity varies between 3 and 5 holes per spoiler.

4. Install spoiler. Refer to page 10-8-11 in the Service Manual.
