Engine Fuel Pipes

Engine Compartment Fuel Lines:

Tools Required:
J 37088-A tool set or equivalent. Fuel line quick-connect fittings.

Remove or Disconnect
1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel System / Service and Repair.
2. Quick-connect fittings at engine compartment fuel feed and return connecting lines.
3. Plug fuel lines.
4. Engine fuel feed and return pipe retainer and screw.
5. Fuel pipe from fuel rail using back-up wrench.
6. Fuel pipe from regulator.
7. Discard 0-ring.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New 0-rings.
2. Fuel pipe to fuel rail.

Tighten
Fuel fitting to 27 Nm (20 lbs. ft.).

3. Fuel pressure regulator screw.
4. Quick-connect fittings.
5. Fuel line retainer.
6. Fuel line retainer screw.

Tighten
Fuel line retainer screw to 7 Nm (62 lbs. in.).

7. Negative battery cable.
8. Fuel filler cap.

INSPECT
Turn ignition to "ON" position for two seconds, then turn to "OFF" for ten seconds. Again turn to "ON" position, and check for fuel leaks.
