Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Fuel Rail Assembly Identification:

Each injector is calibrated for a specific flow rate. Be sure to use the correct part number when ordering replacement injectors.

When replacing injector O-rings, be sure to install the brown O-ring in the lower position.

The fuel injector lower O-ring uses a nylon collar, called the O-ring backup, to properly position the O-ring on the injector.

Fuel Rail Assembly:

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Disconnect electrical connectors

Fuel Rail Assembly Removal:

2. Remove fuel rail
3. Remove injector retaining clips
4. Remove injectors

Install or Connect:
1. Install injectors using new O-rings. Coat O-rings with clean engine oil. Use brown O-rings in the lower position only.
2. Install injector retaining clips
3. Install fuel rail
4. Connect electrical connectors
