Reverse Idler Gear

DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove bolts (94).

2. Remove shift rail (104), gear (103), shaft (102) and bracket (109).

3. Remove shift rail (104) from bracket (109).

4. Remove detent ball (106) and spring (107).


INSPECTION
Inspect all components for excessive wear and/or damage. Replace worn or damaged components as required.


ASSEMBLE
Lubricate all components with Synchromesh assembly lube part No. 12345349, or equivalent.

1. Assemble spring (107) and ball (106) into bracket (109).

2. Install shaft (104) into bracket assembly.

3. Install gear (103) onto shaft (102). Slot on gear must face toward threaded hole in shaft (102).

4. Install reverse idler gear assembly.

5. Install bolt (94). Tighten bolt to specifications.
