Shift Shaft Detent/Transaxle Housing

1. Install inner spring seat (144), then the fifth/reverse bias spring (143).

2. Install outer spring seat (142).

3. Apply small amount of thread locking kit part No. 1052624, or equivalent, to fifth/reverse bias spring screw (143), then install screw (141). Tighten screw (143) to specifications.

4. Install new protective cover (140 or 174) by positioning below snap ring groove.
